Baseball Game Preview: Central Catholic Raiders vs. Oakdale Mustangs

The Central Catholic Raiders will head out to challenge the Oakdale Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Oakdale's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Central Catholic proved they can win big on Friday (they won by nine) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Oakdale 8-6. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Broden Thomas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Hudson Walker also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Central Catholic pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Oakdale, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.
