Baseball Recap: Marshall Academy Starts Season with Win Against Bayou Academy

Marshall Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 17-3 margin over the Bayou Academy Colts.

Carter Dennison was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Todd, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI and one run.

Marshall Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .521. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bayou Academy only posted an OBP of .382.

Marshall Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Lake Cormorant on the 10th. Bayou Academy has also already played their next game (against Clarksdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
