Recap: Ferndale Wildcats vs. Hayfork Timberjacks
There's no place like home for the Ferndale Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past Hayfork 65-31 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Ferndale has posted yet this season.
Ferndale found their leader in underclassman Prescott Langer, who scored 18 points. Langer continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Thomas Fergison, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Hayfork still got an impressive performance from Daniel Kasper, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Kasper also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
Ferndale's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Hayfork, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ferndale will take on South Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Fork presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ferndale in California (South Fork is ranked 456th, while Ferndale is ranked 1091st). Hayfork won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Butte Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
