Basketball Recap: Fredericksburg Billies vs. Wimberley Texans
Fredericksburg has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 70-51 fall against the Wimberley Texans on Friday. If the Billies were looking for revenge after losing 67-65 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Billies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Monger, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Kade Spies, who posted 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Fredericksburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2023.
Paul Gumbert-Mendoza continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wimberley, going 10 for 20 en route to 25 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Gumbert-Mendoza has scored at least a third of Wimberley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Wortham, who earned nine points.
Fredericksburg's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Wimberley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-8.
