Flag Football Game Preview: Grandview Wolves vs. Overland Trailblazers

The Grandview Wolves will head out to face off against the Overland Trailblazers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grandview is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

On Saturday, Grandview made easy work of Arapahoe and carried off a 32-12 victory. With the Wolves ahead 26-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Abby Kirkpatrick was her usual excellent self, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 66 yards on only five carries. Those 87 receiving yards gave her a new career-high. Brooke Sullivan was another key player, having thrown for 278 yards and two touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Grandview's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jayden Schwabauer and Collette Esquibel, who racked up all seven sacks between them. Esquibel has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last four times she's played.

Meanwhile, Overland played in-conference for the first time on Saturday and got just the result they were looking for. They managed a 12-6 win over Eaglecrest.

Grandview's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Overland, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Everything came up roses for Grandview against Overland when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 46-14 victory. In that matchup, the Wolves amassed a halftime lead of 33-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
