Volleyball Recap: Severn Run Finds Playoff Glory Versus North County

With a playoff win on the line, Severn Run rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the North County Knights. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

Severn Run walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 25-5.

Savannah Smith paced Severn Run's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Xaria Johnson and her 16 assists. Johnson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Severn Run's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for North County, they dropped their record down to 9-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Severn Run will challenge Meade at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
