Football Recap: Fisher Comes Up Short

If Fisher was feeling good fresh off their 53-0 takedown of Westmont last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bunnies took a blow against the Heyworth Hornets on Friday, falling 48-6. The Bunnies haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Fisher saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Andrew Todd rushed for 124 yards and one TD while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Todd's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 118 rushing yards.

Fisher's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Heyworth, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fisher will challenge LeRoy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Heyworth, they will take on Marquette Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Explorers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
