Baseball Game Preview: Tate Aggies vs. Crestview Bulldogs

The Tate Aggies are taking a road trip to square off against the Crestview Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tate is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against West Florida, falling 12-2. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Aggies' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Connor Dethlefs made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Crestview didn't have quite enough to beat Niceville on Tuesday and fell 4-3.

Crestview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Williamson, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI was Williamson's first of the season.

Crestview has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Tate and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Tate might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Crestview when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Tate avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
