Softball Game Preview: Kenosha Bradford Devils vs. Menomonee Falls Phoenix

The Kenosha Bradford Devils will take on the Menomonee Falls Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Kenosha Bradford is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

Kenosha Bradford proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 15) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Stevens Point 4-3.

11 must be Menomonee Falls' lucky number: they beat Wauwatosa East with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Phoenix blew past the Red Raiders 11-5. The Phoenix haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Natalie Jarrett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ally Bichler and Brynn Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Bichler went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs, while Johnson went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Selear, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Menomonee Falls hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive games.

Kenosha Bradford's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Menomonee Falls, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.

Kenosha Bradford came out on top in a nail-biter against Menomonee Falls when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Devils repeat their success, or do the Phoenix have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
