Baseball Recap: Washington's Win Ends 11-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Washington got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against the St. Francis Borgia Knights by a score of 11-6. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bluejays' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Ben Loesing was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Andrew Elbert was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs.

Washington hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Francis Borgia struck out ten times.

Washington's win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-18. As for St. Francis Borgia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Washington will take on St. Charles at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Francis Borgia, they will challenge St. Clair at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
