Soccer Game Preview: Stanhope Elmore vs. Benjamin Russell

The Stanhope Elmore Mustangs will challenge the Benjamin Russell Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stanhope Elmore is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

Stanhope Elmore is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Chelsea, who was ranked sixth at the time (Stanhope Elmore was ranked 16th). The Mustangs fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2 on Monday. Stanhope Elmore haven't had much luck with Chelsea recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Jay Myers wasn't going to let Chelsea walk away unscathed as he scored both of Stanhope Elmore's goals, bringing his season total up to 24 goals.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Russell entered their tilt with Chilton County on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

Stanhope Elmore's loss dropped their record down to 12-5-2. As for Benjamin Russell, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4-3.
