Baseball Recap: Laporte Takes a Loss

Laporte came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers, falling 14-6. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Laporte's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Cass Lake-Bena, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-4.

Laporte wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-1 defeat against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on the 9th. As for Cass Lake-Bena, they will be playing at home against Kelliher/Northome at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
