Recap: Donaldsonville Tigers vs. St. James Wildcats
The Donaldsonville Tigers lost against the St. James Wildcats back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Donaldsonville took a serious blow against St. James, falling 55-24. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Donaldsonville in their matchups with St. James: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Donaldsonville still got an impressive performance from Blake Turner, who rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns.
Leading St. James to victory were Kobe Brown and Brayden Williams. Brown gained 188 total yards and three touchdowns, while Williams rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Brown was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. St. James also got a significant boost from Kani King-young, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
Donaldsonville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for St. James, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Donaldsonville will be playing in front of their home fans against Patterson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Patterson is ranked 190th, while Donaldsonville is ranked 192nd). As for St. James, they will head out on the road to face off against Berwick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
