Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oswego East). They put the hurt on the Plainfield East Bengals with a sharp 12-1 victory on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Wolves with their most commanding win of the season.

Nick Brennan looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on TJ Anderson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Devin Wheaton was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Oswego East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in three consecutive games.

Oswego East's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Plainfield East, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7-1.

Oswego East and Plainfield East could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Wolves (ranked 308th) will meet Metea Valley (ranked 147th) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Plainfield East will challenge Plainfield North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (349 vs. 31).
