Basketball Game Preview: Borrego Springs Rams vs. West Shores Wildcats

Borrego Springs is on a four-game streak of home losses also dating back to last season, West Shores a four-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Borrego Springs Rams will welcome the West Shores Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Borrego Springs is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Warner on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Borrego Springs was outmatched by Warner and fell 68-18. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.

Travis Asche was Borrego Springs' leading scorer, having posted nine points. Asche also led the team in rebounds with ten.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-22, which was the final score in West Shores' tilt against Desert Chapel back in December of 2024.

Borrego Springs will have to contain Humberto Olmos as he made an impact in West Shores' last game. He posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Those four steals gave Olmos a new career-high. Shelton Mu?iz was another key player, putting up four points and five rebounds.

Borrego Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for West Shores, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
