Appomattox County came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Chatham Cavaliers get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Paisley Mann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Mann wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Karly Jenkins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Jenkins a new career-high.

Appomattox County's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chatham, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Appomattox County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cavaliers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
