Baseball Recap: Cole Takes a Loss

Cole fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Randolph on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Ro-Hawks by a score of 9-8. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Tristan Zedhikeia and Landon Snyder stepped up to the plate in a big way. Zedhikeia scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Snyder got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI. That's the most runs Zedhikeia has posted since back in April of 2024.

Cole's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Randolph, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Cole and Randolph could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Cole will square off against Jourdanton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday down 588 places (996 vs. 408). Meanwhile, Randolph (ranked 911th) will meet Marion (ranked 252nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
