Softball Recap: Riverheads' Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Riverheads was riding high fresh off their 10-2 takedown of Stonewall Jackson two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gladiators took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Defiance Indians on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 back in April.

Riverheads' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7. As for Fort Defiance, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverheads will head out to challenge Staunton at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gladiators are facing the Storm at the right time seeing as the Storm are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Fort Defiance, they will head out on the road to face off against Waynesboro at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
