Basketball Game Preview: East English Village Prep vs. Douglass Hurricanes

East English Village Prep will venture away from home to take on the Douglass Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East English Village Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Douglass likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, East English Village Prep was beaten by Hamtramck 92-55.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Douglass' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while the Trail Blazers are ranked 107th).

Douglass' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9. As for East English Village Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

East English Village Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Douglass when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 44-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for East English Village Prep since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
