Baseball Recap: Lansingburgh Knights vs. Hudson Falls Tigers

Lansingburgh took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Hudson Falls, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Tigers 6-5 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Tigers back in April, they had to take a 11-2 loss.

Dan Pondillo was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Pondillo was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Chad Gamache and Johnny Cronk did most of the damage at the plate: Gamache got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one double, while Cronk went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Lansingburgh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hudson Falls only posted a batting average of .226.
