Basketball Recap: Hale Demaree's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sealy over Royal

After flying high against Fort Bend Willowridge last Thursday, Sealy came back down to earth. The Sealy Tigers took a hard 67-51 fall against the Royal Falcons on Friday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 60-57.

Sealy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hale Demaree, who posted 12 points and six boards. Kane Killough was another key player, putting up four points and 11 rebounds.

It was another big night for Zaelyn Shelton, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards for Royal. That's the most rebounds Shelton has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elijah Mathews, who scored eight points and five boards.

Sealy's record now sits at 13-6. As for Royal, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season.

Sealy has already played their next contest, an 81-41 defeat against Stafford on the 28th. As for Royal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 73-44 loss against Almeta Crawford on the 28th.
