Basketball Game Preview: Freedom Eagles vs. Glen Allen Jaguars

The Freedom Eagles just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Glen Allen Jaguars at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Freedom has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Freedom is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 63-8 win over Forest Park. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-2.

Freedom's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savannah Price, who went 8 for 12 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. Price is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Keilana Johnson was another key player, going 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points and three steals.

Freedom smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Glen Allen faced Cosby in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Glen Allen strolled past Cosby with points to spare, taking the game 56-38.

Glen Allen's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Freedom, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
