Preview: Jackson-Milton Bluejays vs. Harding Skippers
The Jackson-Milton Bluejays will head out on the road to face off against the Harding Skippers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Jackson-Milton suffered a tough 35-14 loss at the hands of Lowellville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jackson-Milton in their matchups with Lowellville: they've now lost three in a row.
Jackson-Milton's loss came about despite a quality game from Keegan White, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Harding, as they earned their first road win of the season. They didn't even let St. John onto the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Saturday.
Harding found their leader in underclassman Yomar Castellano, who rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 79 receiving yards.
Harding's win bumped their season record to 3-5 while Jackson-Milton's loss dropped theirs to 6-2.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Jackson-Milton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 232.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Harding struggles in that department as they've been averaging 154.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
