Basketball Game Preview: Berthoud Spartans vs. Thompson Valley Eagles

The Berthoud Spartans will take on the Thompson Valley Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Berthoud didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Severance, but they still walked away with a 57-51 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Meanwhile, Thompson Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past the Silver Knights with points to spare, taking the game 57-42.

Thompson Valley pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points over those games. As for Berthoud, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
