Baseball Recap: Tahoka Takes Down Sudan in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tahoka walked away with it. They blew past the Sudan Hornets 11-4 on Thursday. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Sam Kessler, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Hicks, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Tahoka and bumps their season record up to 11-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Sudan, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

Tahoka will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hornets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
