Baseball Recap: Analy Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

While Analy's victory against Healdsburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Greyhounds 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted against the Greyhounds since March 30, 2022.

Cooper Schulz tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Analy's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wes Bush, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Analy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Thomas, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Analy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Healdsburg, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-5 record.

Analy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Greyhounds: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
