Basketball Recap: Santee Takes a Loss

Santee suffered their closest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Todd County Falcons by a score of 59-56.

Leading Todd County to victory were Chris Ellert and Oniya Whirlwind Soldier. Ellert went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds, while Whirlwind Soldier posted 16 points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Whirlwind Soldier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reuben Iron Horse, who had five points and seven rebounds.

Santee's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Todd County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Santee and White River will face off at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Todd County, they and Cheyenne-Eagle Butte will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Cheyenne-Eagle Butte's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
