Football Recap: Louisiana Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Louisiana's offense. They were dealt a 54-0 loss at the hands of the North Callaway Thunderbirds on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 113th).

Coltyn O'Neal had an outrageously good game for North Callaway as he threw for 157 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 50 yards and one score. Those 50 rushing yards gave O'Neal a new career-high.

Louisiana is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for North Callaway, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Louisiana will challenge Salisbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for North Callaway, they will face off against Mark Twain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
