Basketball Game Preview: Shorecrest Scots vs. Mercer Island Islanders

The Shorecrest Scots will take on the Mercer Island Islanders in a tournament on Monday.

Last Friday, Shorecrest was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-44 to Shorewood.

Meanwhile, Mercer Island had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 59-50 victory over Varsity Opponent.

Mercer Island's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Shorecrest, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Shorecrest took their victory against Mercer Island in their previous matchup back in January of 2020 by a conclusive 65-43. In that game, Shorecrest amassed a halftime lead of 42-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
