Football Game Preview: Hawthorne Hornets vs. Gainesville Hurricanes

The Hawthorne Hornets will face off against the Gainesville Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Hawthorne and 14 for Gainesville dating back to last season.

Hawthorne's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Newberry on Tuesday. They took an 18-0 bruising from the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Gainesville also failed to score in their most recent game. They were dealt a 28-0 defeat at the hands of Forest on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Wildcats are ranked 102nd).

Hawthorne's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gainesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
