Basketball Game Preview: Schaumburg Christian Conquerors vs. Alden-Hebron Green Giants

The Schaumburg Christian Conquerors will head out on the road to take on the Alden-Hebron Green Giants at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Schaumburg Christian will be strutting in after a win while Alden-Hebron will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Schaumburg Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Westlake Christian Academy, but they still walked away with a 58-52 victory.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Schaumburg Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucas Bustamante, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 18 points in addition to six assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliot Foy, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points and six steals.

Bustamante wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Schaumburg Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Alden-Hebron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 49-31 to Durand.

Schaumburg Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Alden-Hebron, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything came up roses for Schaumburg Christian against Alden-Hebron when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 67-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Schaumburg Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
