Football Game Preview: Meridian Hawks vs. Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski Lions

The Meridian Hawks will square off against the Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Meridian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: Milford/Cissna Park, who was ranked 11th at the time (Meridian was ranked 20th). The Hawks came up short against the Bearcats on Saturday, falling 52-30. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bryce Brown put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 194 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 50 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 58 points the game before, Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 54-12 loss at the hands of St. Anne. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
