Football Recap: Capital Comes Up Short

Capital faced Glacier in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bruins took a blow against the Wolfpack, falling 56-6. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolfpack apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Carson Toivonen threw for 71 yards and one TD while completing 77.8% of his passes. Joey Mergenthaler was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Brit Linder rushed for 45 yards.

Glacier was led to victory by Asher Knopik and Jackson Presley. Knopik rushed for 139 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries, while Presley rushed for 39 yards and one TD. Those 139 rushing yards gave Knopik a new career-high.

Capital's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Glacier, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Capital wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 27-24 defeat against Helena on the 26th. As for Glacier, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-0 victory against Hellgate on the 26th.
