Softball Recap: Janesville Parker Drops Highest Score of Season Against Wilmot

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Janesville Parker). They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Wilmot Panthers on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Lilly Keller was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Keara Erickson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Donnavee Kong, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.

Janesville Parker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Janesville Parker and bumps their season record up to 9-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Wilmot, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.

Janesville Parker has already played their next contest (against Madison West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Wilmot, they will venture away from home to challenge Waterford at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
