After a string of ten wins, Aubrey's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Krum Bobcats by a score of 7-5. The Chaparrals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

Judah Van Rijn made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamia Cherry, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Aubrey's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 22-3. As for Krum, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-3.

Aubrey and Krum should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Chaparrals will challenge Ranchview at 5:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (41 vs. 981). Meanwhile, Krum (ranked 113th) will meet Lake Dallas (ranked 240th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
