Softball Recap: Grand Ledge's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Grand Ledge came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the St. Johns Redwings 14-4. Considering the Comets have won 18 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Grand Ledge's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Johns, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Ledge will venture away from home to take on Hudsonville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Johns, they will head out to square off against East Lansing at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redwings are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
