Baseball Game Preview: Edmonds-Woodway Warriors vs. Lynnwood Royals

The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Lynnwood Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Edmonds-Woodway is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Edmonds-Woodway took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Arlington, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 2-1.

Isak Haverlock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Edmonds-Woodway's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trevelyan Podawiltz, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits Podawiltz has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, Lynnwood came up short against Redmond on Tuesday, falling 12-2.

Edmonds-Woodway pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lynnwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Everything went Edmonds-Woodway's way against Lynnwood when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Edmonds-Woodway made off with an 8-1 victory. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
