Softball Recap: McKeesport Takes a Loss

McKeesport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 29-11 to the Franklin Regional Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 two weeks ago.

Sunny Harper led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Esiah Harper, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

McKeesport's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Franklin Regional, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.

Coming up, McKeesport will head out to face off against Armstrong at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the River Hawks have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Franklin Regional, they will square off against Kiski Area at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
