Softball Recap: Canon-McMillan Big Macs vs. Seneca Valley Raiders
After flying high against Butler last Friday, Canon-McMillan came back down to earth. The Big Macs took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seneca Valley Raiders on Wednesday. The Big Macs have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.
Brooke Bumer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
Canon-McMillan's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Seneca Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
