Baseball Recap: Legacy Has No Trouble Against Doral Academy Red Rock

Legacy won the last time they faced Doral Academy Red Rock and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Longhorns blew past the Dragons 17-1. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Longhorns this season.

Easton Lake made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Legacy is undefeated when Lake posts two or more runs, but 2-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Legacy got a massive performance out of Hunter Campbell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Campbell has posted since back in April of 2024. William Glover was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Legacy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Doral Academy Red Rock only posted an OBP of .318.

The victory made it two in a row for Legacy and bumps their season record up to 8-11. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8-1.

Looking ahead, Legacy will welcome Sierra Vista at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountain Lions will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Longhorns surely won't give up without a fight.
