Recap: Landmark Christian Patriots vs. Liberty Christian Prep Lions
The matchup between the Landmark Christian Patriots and the Liberty Christian Prep Lions on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. Landmark Christian received a tough blow as they fell 62-47 to Liberty Christian Prep. Landmark Christian can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their three games.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xavier Norfolk, who scored 17 points. Norfolk scored a full 36.2% of Landmark Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Cole Williams was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Jaden Victor had an outrageously good game for Liberty Christian Prep as he shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 33 points and 10 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Victor has scored at least 25% of Liberty Christian Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Frerking, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Landmark Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Liberty Christian Prep, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Landmark Christian will challenge Family Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Family Christian Academy is ranked 255th, while Landmark Christian is ranked 257th). As for Liberty Christian Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Christian Learning Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Learning Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
