Baseball Recap: Arizona College Prep Comes Up Short

Arizona College Prep managed to slip by Campo Verde the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Arizona College Prep lost 12-6 to Campo Verde on Thursday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Arizona College Prep got a good showing from Grant McInturf, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. McInturf has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ashton Sanchez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Arizona College Prep's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-4. As for Campo Verde, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Arizona College Prep will face off against Sunnyslope at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Campo Verde, they will host Mountain Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
