Baseball Recap: Northern Potter's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Northern Potter took a 13-run loss the last time they faced off against Cameron County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Raiders 5-4 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since March 22nd.

Conhar Snyder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Snyder was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Ty Daniels was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one double. Northern Potter is 2-1 when Daniels posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-8 otherwise. Owen Daniels also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Northern Potter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cameron County only posted a batting average of .250.

Northern Potter moved to 3-9 with that victory, which also ended their nine-game losing streak. As for Cameron County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Northern Potter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cameron County, they will be playing at home against Port Allegany at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Gators will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
