Basketball Game Preview: Western Hills Mustangs vs. Mason Comets

After both having extra time off, the Western Hills Mustangs and the Mason Comets will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Western Hills has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight defeats, while Mason will come in with seven straight victories.

Last Wednesday, Western Hills came up short against DePaul Cristo Rey and fell 40-28.

Meanwhile, Mason strolled past Lakota West with points to spare last Saturday, taking the game 52-36.

Mason's win came from a few key players Western Hills will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Anneliese Knight, who posted six points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Habra, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 14 points and five boards.

Mason smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Western Hills' loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Mason, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
