Football Recap: Massena Takes a Loss

After flying high against Franklin Academy last Saturday, Massena came back down to earth. The Raiders lost to the Canton Golden Bears on the road by a 27-12 margin on Saturday. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Vincent Monacelli threw for 53 yards on four of 11 attempts. Lucas Regan was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards. On the ground, Mason Deshane rushed for 64 yards and one TD.

Massena has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Canton, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Massena is set to square off against their familiar foe Gouverneur at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Canton will challenge rival Ogdensburg Free Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
