Recap: Kress Kangaroos vs. Springlake-Earth Wolverines
The Kress Kangaroos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 96-52 loss at the hands of Springlake-Earth. Kress has struggled against Springlake-Earth recently, as their contest on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Kress lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Darian Amador, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Amador has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Gilles, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Jj Jaramillo was his usual excellent self, scoring 37 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Springlake-Earth. It was the first time this season that Jaramillo pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Timothy Tovar, who scored 21 points.
Kress has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Springlake-Earth, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.
Kress does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springlake-Earth, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Happy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Springlake-Earth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
