The Strawberry Crest Chargers were the 14-6 winner over the Plant City Raiders when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Strawberry Crest was outmatched by Plant City on the road and fell 57-20. Strawberry Crest just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Strawberry Crest lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Devin Blunt. Despite the final result, he rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown.
Leading Plant City to victory were Tony Marshall and Chris Denson. Marshall rushed for 178 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, while Denson threw for 216 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Michael Bell made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Strawberry Crest has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Plant City, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Strawberry Crest will be playing at home against Lakeland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Plant City, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
