Palmyra-Macedon will venture away from home to challenge Hornell at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palmyra-Macedon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Palmyra-Macedon had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Mynderse Academy on Saturday. The Red Raiders blew past the Blue Devils 8-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Noah DaPolito spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Caffyn, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Brady Leo was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Hornell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Dansville, falling 11-5. On the bright side, the five- run performance marked the Red Raiders' highest-scoring contest to date.
Hornell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marco Picco, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those hits marked the first that Picco has got this season. Another was Ashton Hooker, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double.
Palmyra-Macedon's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Hornell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Hornell's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Palmyra-Macedon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. It's a different story for Hornell, though, as they've only averaged .322. Will they be able to contain Palmyra-Macedon's hitters?
Palmyra-Macedon skirted past Hornell 6-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmyra-Macedon since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
