Baseball Game Preview: Christian Brothers Cadets vs. St. Louis University Junior Bills

For the second straight game, Christian Brothers will face off against St. Louis University. The Cadets will head out on the road to take on the Junior Bills at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Brothers' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so St. Louis University's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Christian Brothers took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over St. Louis University. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cadets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Michael Sievers tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Corde Gage was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Ryan Horne, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double.

Christian Brothers pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for St. Louis University, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2-1.
