Basketball Recap: Centennial Takes a Loss

After flying high against Chisago Lakes Area last Monday, Centennial came back down to earth. The Centennial Cougars opened the new year with a less-than-successful 73-61 defeat to the White Bear Lake Bears. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost three in a row.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for White Bear Lake, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-4.

Centennial won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Woodbury at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Centennial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for White Bear Lake, they will take on Mounds View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
